The Beckford is a great place to hold a party - formal or informal. It has great atmosphere, style and a reputation for good food and fine ales. Our recently rebuilt and re-equipped kitchen allows us to cater for large parties very efficiently. We can accommodate up to 85 people in the Garden restaurant and 45 in the Bredon function room. We believe in tailoring every event to your own requirements whether they are a multicourse meal or buffet. We are able to arrange discos or other live musical entertainment.

Weddings - The Planning

We can begin whenever you are ready - 1 week or a year before. Simply arrange to call in and meet us, look around the building and see the facilities that we can offer. Wedding packages are available on request.
Your specific requirements are important to us and these will all be noted, including vegetarian, dietary or children's meals and little personal requirements to help make the day special. We will show you some menu suggestions, ranging from a delicious cold buffet to a comprehensive three course meal.
You can also peruse our wine list and discuss drinks requirements.
A guide can be given on likely costs involved at this stage but a written costing will be provided when matters are fully decided. We will provide some menu suggestions which can be tailored to your exact requirements. We will also highlight our principle facilities and the type of service that we will be pleased to provide if requested. Marquees can be arranged and sited in the grounds for the summer wedding reception.
Final details will be discussed with you nearer the date when numbers can also be more accurately assessed


The Garden Restaurant
Ideal for Wedding parties of between 50 and 110 guests

The seating plan is adaptable in that it can be laid in a formal E shaped top table design allowing the maximum number of 85 guests. Alternatively we can lay individual tables for 4, 6 or 8 guests providing a more friendly atmosphere. This does reduce maximum numbers to around 70. However when the room is laid out for a buffet style meal then up to110 guests can be catered for.
The Restaurant benefits from opening on to an attractive enclosed garden, with an ancient well - ideal for those romantic or family photographs, for allowing young children to play safely or simply to enjoy sitting out when the weather is fine.

It also has its own entrance foyer with disabled access and toilet facilities including disabled WC.

The Bredon Room
Ideal for Wedding ceremonies

Ideally suited to weddings or private parties this room can cater for up to 60 people when set out for a buffet. If you choose our civil ceremony then it will be held in this room. It can be laid to a long table design for up to 50 or in individual tables of 4, 6 or 8 up to around 35.

Following on from the main event, a professional Disco can be arranged for the evening. If you have a favourite DJ or other form of entertainment of your own choice, you can arrange this direct. There is the option of having the main reception in the Garden Restaurant and a disco in the restaurant later. If this might not suit the more senior folk, you can use the Bredon room for the disco. An Evening buffet can be provided if required, especially for those guests that may not have attended the wedding breakfast. A bedroom will be provided for principle guests changing facilities.

We have 8 comfortable en suite bedrooms to accommodate up to 16 guests - ideal for those that are some distance from home. A rather special Bridal Suite is also available for the bride and groom in the old part of the hotel.

Payment

A deposit of approximately 25% of the anticipated cost will be requested on confirmation of the booking. This is fully refundable up to 1 month beforehand. Payment of the balance is required two weeks beforehand. Any Bar bills or extras are payable on departure. Most major credit cards and personal cheques with a bankers card are acceptable.

Parties and Other Celebrations

The Garden Restaurant

Our main restaurant may be booked for larger parties or those in midweek.

It accommodates between 70 and 85 people depending on the type of seating arrangement and whether music and dancing is required.
For large parties we can tailor a function to your personal requirements.
- Your choice of menu including wine or champagne
- Your choice of live group, disco music or live entertainment
- Your choice of decorations.

If required our chef will advise on the ideal hot meal or buffet to suit the occasion including vegetarian and children's options. You can choose from a wide selection of dishes, hot or cold buffets. There are vegetarian and special dietary options and children's favourites plus an extensive choice of deserts.
You can request your favourite wine or champagne and we will obtain it for you or you can select from our extensive wine list designed to cater for all tastes.

Drinks can be served until midnight by virtue of our Supper Licence.

Our Public Entertainment Licence allows us to provide a variety of entertainment, live music and discos. These can be situated in the Garden restaurant which has its own dance floor and special lighting.
In the summer you can wander out into the garden and take photographs by the wishing well.

The room can be tastefully decorated to suit the occasion and your requirements.

Guests, friends and family who have travelled a distance will have priority booking of our accommodation.

It also has its own entrance foyer with disabled access and toilet facilities including disabled WC.

The Bredon Room

This room is ideal for family functions where a degree of privacy is preferred.

Up to 45 people can be seated comfortably in a secluded environment. It is ideal for christenings, private family parties, reunions or club celebrations.

There is a wide choice of hot and cold meals that can be served in the Bredon room by our waiting staff

We will decorate the room tastefully to suit the occasion.
